Become a Gym Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor* or Aqua Instructor*
Entry Requirements:
- Literacy and numeracy level equivalent to that of Year 10 leaving certificate

This enables you to:
- Conduct an initial induction including; basic screening, fitness appraisal, basic program development and exercise instruction
- Design individual training programs
- Advise technique correction and suggest alternative exercises
- Regularly appraise clients’ fitness and skill acquisition and suggest modifications to their programs

A 12 month window from course start date is allowed for students to complete all assessment tasks and gain their certification.
The projected times below are suggested timelines for online learning and the face to face timelines will require additional time for assessment tasks to be completed in the student’s own time.

Course Delivery
Correspondence:
The course is broken down into modules with each module having its own resource manual and workbooks included. You can work through these at your own pace. Face to face tutorials are available once monthly – bookings essential. Ongoing support is available via email and phone.
Blended:
This mode suits students who learn better with additional classroom learning.
Being a higher education qualification more responsibility is placed on students to research and structure their learning plan.
The course begins with an intensive face to face week on campus, followed by 1 contact day a fortnight (Fridays) until all units have been covered. (Approximately 9 months).
There are 4 intakes per year.
Additional support is available by email or phone throughout the course.
