Welcome to Motivational Thursday! Over the next few weeks I will introduce you to some of the simple concepts of human thought processes and how you can use these to help yourself and those around you.

Step 1:

It’s all about you – how do you treat yourself?

Questions:

If you spoke to your best friend the way you speak to yourself, how long would they be your best friend?

How can you expect to achieve the things in your life that you value when you are self sabotaging through your daily self talk?

Did you know that everyone has days where they doubt their abilities?

You can use this to your advantage to realize that you are not any different to anyone else and that your doubts and fears are normal.

The key is to use these moments to make you stronger and determined to achieve what it is that is important to you.

Step 2:

Identifying appropriate goals – ask yourself, ‘what are my core values?’

Keep reading over the next few weeks to determine what your true motivators are.

Goals set without connecting to your core value systems will either be unfulfilling when achieved or may never be completed as you will lose motivation before reaching the goal.

Step 3:

Setting yourself up for a successful outcome every time.

This will be a series of successful methods to help you deal with success and failure.

Step 4:

How to stay focused when life gets in the way.

The next step will focus on time management and how to prioritise your hour, day, week, month and year.

Step 5:

The last step will be how to have more fun and enjoy every moment – learning the skill of staying present and how this will reduce the stress in your life plus help you achieve the things you value and desire.

See you again next week for more on step 1.

Till then try this fun challenge:

Smile at every person you walk past – the gift you are sharing will make them feel better and costs you nothing (and the best part is it makes you feel better too!).

This is an interesting fact for people that are interested in getting started in the fitness industry.  You may be eligible to gain credit for your fitness qualifications from previously completed studies.  There are a couple of ways to go about this:

  1. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for those people that not yet working in the industry, OR
  2. Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) for those people that have completed previous studies or are currently working in the industry and are needing to update their qualifications for registration.

Both RPL and RCC are great ways for interested people to increase their skill and knowledge sets and are both based on your worth within the industry.  The process for both is the same and a qualified staff member from Online Fitness will certainly be able to guide you through the steps required for you to start the upskilling process.

What we require from your side of things, is a copy of all of your education that you feel is relevant to your case.  Ideally we require a course outline to enable us to credit map this efficiently.  Also, have a think about any work experience that may lend itself to the process and provide that as well along with any exercise programs, health screens, strength and conditioning programs, stretch routines, anything at all that will show us your level of understanding of the theory behind the fitness industry.

This may be a good way for you to see what you’re worth within the fitness industry!

Our sample Online course has gone live and we are excited about gaining some feedback from people interested in having a look at a unique and exciting way of learning health and fitness theory.  Go to www.onfit.com.au and follow the links to our sample course.  Once you’ve had a play around and gone through both sample courses, jump back here and complete the poll for us.  We’ll really enjoy hearing your thoughts on the course.

STUDY ONLINE

Not all students can sit in a classroom and fully grasp the information and concepts presented.  As the saying goes:  “The brain can only take in what the seat can endure.”

As an online student you can fully focus on the material in front of you and spend as long as you need to absorb the information. The materials are presented with lessons containing slide presentations, voice overs, side notes, quizzes, and online interactive assessments that are marked instantly!

Delivery of the modules in this fashion prevents you from being overwhelmed by information overload, and lets you progress at your own pace.

STUDY ONLINE + HARD COPY MATERIALS

Do you like to scribble your own notes, and circle key points on paper to make your study more effective? Then having the hard copy of resources will definitely work for you.

All the benefits of online study are coupled with this additional layer of ‘concrete’ information you can take with you anywhere. You will receive a full set of resources – separate booklets for every unit, and a fabulous anatomy revision book. You will also receive a text book which you will find invaluable for years to come!

BLENDED LEARNING

(The Online Course + Classroom learning)

Combine the Online Fitness Course with a weekly classroom session and you have our brand new style of blended learning. You have online access to all resources, and will be able to work toward your qualifications at your own pace.  Not only are the resources online, all of your assessments are too with you receiving your results within a couple of minutes of completion.

Add our Saturday morning tutorials and you have a fantastic way to keep you motivated and on-track with your studies. In these sessions, you will have the ability to:

  • Ask any questions you have regarding the information in the course
  • Learn further information from your educator and your peers
